Early Childhood at Wichita Collegiate is a place where all children ages two through kindergarten learn according to their unique patterns of growth and individual interests. We strive to help each student understand and function successfully in their environment, which is designed for children to play, grow, and learn as independently as possible. With caring teachers leading the way, our classrooms have been optimized to provide a wide array of stimuli and experiences to promote growth in all areas of development, including social, emotional, physical, and intellectual domains.

Keeping class sizes and teacher ratios small is important to us:

• Two and three-year-old classes enroll 10-12 children per class

• Four and five-year-olds in PreK enroll 12-14 children per class

• Montessori Primary up to 18 children per class

• Kindergarten enrolls up to 14 children per class

WCS recognizes the unique opportunity children have during the early years to establish a solid foundation for future learning. Early childhood is a window of time when the brain is most receptive to language acquisition, memory development, and the organization of cognitive processes. Our teachers are highly experienced and educated to teach and enjoy the age of children they work with. Teachers are “tuned into” the wellness of the whole child and will focus instruction and attention to individual needs as they present themselves. They each plan meaningful learning experiences, effectively manage children in a group setting, understand and assess the needs of each child, and inspire children to become lifelong learners. In addition to the carefully structured curriculum provided in the programs listed above, Wichita Collegiate Early Childhood offers before- and after-school care called Kids Club, a group experience during which students will spend time with their friends in activities according to their interests. Beginning at 7:30 a.m., Kids Club is free of charge. Following dismissal of our full-day programs until 5:30 p.m., families that utilize Kids Club are charged an hourly rate of $12 or can elect the $210 monthly fee for unlimited hours.

Collegiate Enrichment Academy offers a wide range of excellent extra-curricular experiences on campus for our children outside of the school day. These typically run for one semester at a time, one session per week. Some of the offerings include art, yoga, soccer, basketball, golf, karate, cheer, and piano. Learn more here.
