EARLY CHILDHOOD MONTESSORI PROGRAM
The Early Childhood Academic Program is designed to inspire young children to explore, discover, and create. The development of the whole child is emphasized through active participation in a setting that is beautiful, child-friendly, and safe. Both traditional and Montessori programs are offered.
The curriculum is carefully designed to include a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated learning experiences. Teachers are responsive to the interests of the children and support individualized study of such interests. The relationships teachers establish with each child provide a foundation for optimal learning, secure attachment, and social success.
Led by experienced, certified instructors, our Montessori program is rooted in the idea that every child is born with an innate desire to learn through interaction with their environment. With guidance from our instructors, Montessori students are allowed to explore the joy of learning through their own choice. Students also move at their own natural pace, ensuring that each stage of development is maximized for future learning.
The Montessori classroom is the child's world and is divided into five main areas that all work together harmoniously: practical life exercises, sensorial activities, language exercises, mathematics materials, and cultural activities. Following a presentation of materials, children are able to choose how to use their time. The Montessori method believes that children will gradually acquire self-discipline with this freedom to be responsible for the activities chosen and the absorption in meaningful work.
