Grandparents Day is a long-standing tradition and we are so excited to welcome them to campus this November!

Friday's activities for Middle and Upper School divisions are geared specifically toward grandparents. Early Childhood and Lower School's programs are meant to be enjoyed by the entire family, so parents and other family members are welcome on Thursday during their child(ren)'s program.

Please note that our Lower School will release early at 11:30 a.m. and Middle School will release early at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22nd. Kids Club and Kids House will be available at no charge (during our regular school hours, regular billing after that) for those families needing childcare. Students attending Kids Club or Kids House must bring a sack lunch this day, as there will be no SAGE lunch service for Lower or Middle School on Friday, November 22nd.Registration for Kids Club and Kids House is available through the ACTIVE network; please filter by "Kids Club" to find the sessions for Friday, November 22. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, November 13th.

Our annual Thanksgiving Concert, featuring vocal and instrumental music students in grades 5-12, will take place Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.

9:30-10:00 a.m. EC Grandparents return to classrooms for photos.

10:30-11:00 a.m. Early Childhood Program B (Middle School South Gym - Great Beginnings and Preschool) Students performing for this program are in the following classes: Ast, Kotkin, Lester, Ritchie, Smith, and Manamperi.

11:00-11:30 a.m. EC Grandparents return to classrooms for photos.

Remembrance Breakfasts

We recognize that days such as Grandparents Day can also bring about sadness or be a reminder of loss for some of our students. Our Lower, Middle, and Upper School counselors are available as students need. Our Lower and Middle School counselors also plan to host Remembrance Breakfasts for students to talk about the grandparents they are missing on these special days. Dates and times are listed below (locations will be announced closer to the event), but please feel free to reach out to them with more questions.

PARKING PLANS

EARLY CHILDHOOD EVENTS, THURSDAY NOVEMBER 21st:

• Please enter campus through the 13th Street entrances, and find a spot in the lots around the Early Childhood and Lower School buildings. Parking will be at a premium, so we encourage families to carpool together if possible.

• Please head straight to Garvey Gymnasium upon arrival. The playground gate will be open and you will also be able to enter from the west gym doors. You will be able to visit your grandchild's classroom following the conclusion of the concert.

LOWER SCHOOL: 4th GRADE WINDOWS AND MIRRORS PROJECT, THURSDAY NOVEMBER 21st:

• The 4th graders will be presenting their Windows and Mirrors Heritage project in the Lair Family Center on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 pm. We ask that you first park in the Middle School lot as it allows the closest access to the Lair Family Center. Once that lot is full we will also have our Lower School spots open and available.

MIDDLE AND UPPER SCHOOL CONCERT, THURSDAY NOVEMBER 21st:

• The Webb Road entrance will close at 6:00 pm to help manage campus traffic flow. You will enter through 13th Street, and our team will direct you to the correct parking area. We will fill the parking lots from East to West. At the end of the program, those parked in the US lot will exit via Webb Road and those parked in the Tennis lot will exit via 13th Street. We will have two WPD police officers directing traffic, one at 13th and one at Webb. 

LOWER SCHOOL EVENTS, FRIDAY NOVEMBER 22nd:

• Please enter campus through the 13th Street entrances, and follow the campus road past Coulter Stadium to the US parking lot for the Lower School Concert. The Webb Road entrance will be closed to traffic until after the concert. 

• If possible, please arrive no more than 30 minutes early as our Upper School students will be settling into class.

• To ease congestion and to minimize the number of cars on campus, please attempt to carpool with family. 

• Following the conclusion of the concert, if you are able, we encourage you to walk to the Lair Family Center and/or Lower School building for our Grandparents Day activities. If you choose to drive over, we ask that fourth grade families utilize the Middle School parking lot as it provides the easiest access to the Lair. We encourage 1st through 3rd grade families to then park in the Early Childhood and Lower School parking lots.

MIDDLE SCHOOL EVENTS, FRIDAY NOVEMBER 22nd:

• Please enter campus through the 13th Street entrances, and follow the campus road past Coulter Stadium. The Middle School lot will be open for parking, as well as the parking lot south of the tennis courts. You will enter the middle school through the main entrance to meet your grandchild.

UPPER SCHOOL EVENTS, FRIDAY NOVEMBER 22nd:

• Please enter campus through the Webb Road entrance. You will park in the lot directly South of the Upper School and go in through the main entrance.
